Burroughs Cash Machine, Class 8
Written by Accutron on 2017-04-07

The Burroughs Cash Machine is a hybrid adding machine and cash register, derived from the popular Portable Adding Machine. The Cash Machine has a number of protection features, including locked-in totals and a locked-in journal record, and can also be used as a standard adding machine without affecting registered totals. Like the Portable Adding Machine, the Cash Machine was available in Class 8, Class 9 and Class 10 variants, and was also available with a Series P ten-key mechanism. The example pictured here is a manually operated seven-column Class 8 variant, with an eighth column reserved for alphabetical department keys.
