Not to be confused with the American company National Semiconductor, National Semiconductors Ltd. was a lesser-known Canadian manufacturer which specialized in the production of solid state photoelectric devices. The NSL-881 is a typical example of their 1970s product line - a high performance silicon photodiode in a gold-plated TO-5 metal canister.
